          Mid-autumn festival is a very important and meaningful festival for Chinese because in this day all family members will be together to eat dinner .
         Mid-autumn festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month according to the Chinese lunar calendar and this festival is the second grandest festival in China after Chinese New Year ,It takes its name from the fact that it is always celebrated in the middle of the autumn season, the day is also known as the Moon Festival, as at that time of the year the moon is the roundest and brightest and there are lots of fairy story to describe this festival,in addition to the romantic legend《 Chang E Flying to the Moon》mentioned above ,there are many other legends and stories related to this grand festival , the most well-known ones include Jade Rabbit Pounding Medicine, Wu Gang Chopping Laurel Tree .
         In this day , all family members even who are in other places will go home to eat dinner together and appreciate the moon and then eat the special food-the moon cakes. this festival stands for the happiness because in this day parents can see their children who work in other cities or other countries, children can see their parents , the wife can see her husband, so in China, this is a happy festival.
         But now , there will be some day-offs in this festival, so many people choose to go outside to take vacation ,people are no longer just staying at home ,in addition the way people celebrate the festival changes , the variety of Moon cakes has also increased , now there is a new Moon cake called Ice Moon cakes, it is quite different from the ordinary Moon cake , so there are some new customs in Mid-autumn festival,but it is also the second happiest festival in China .
